Exceptional Design and Structure

Unlike traditional darbukas, the Black Crown features a wider, open-bottom design — shaped elegantly like a plate — delivering deep, powerful “Doom” tones with enhanced resonance. The top ring is fitted with 8 tuning pegs for precise pitch control, giving professional players total command over their sound.

The aluminum shell has been layered with two coats of special black finish, each applied and cured over several days to achieve a rich, almost 3D depth effect. After nearly a month-long finishing process, the darbuka was hand-polished from bottom to top, resulting in a mirror-like black surface with the Arab Instruments logo engraved directly into the metal.

Every drum in this collection is truly one-of-a-kind. As each is hand-painted and hand-polished, minor imperfections are part of its authenticity — proof of the human artistry that goes into its creation.
